Meet the team

Hello Friends,

Has life got you stressed and burned out? Have you lost your bliss? We can help you find it through integrative mind-body-spirit wellness techniques, like Yoga, Tibetan Ayurveda, Thai massage, Reiki, Upledger Craniosacral therapy, MLD, neuromuscular therapy, hydrotherapies, and skincare therapies for the face and body. Sanctuary Holistic Spa uses a biopsychosocial treatment model and refers to specialists.

Give yourself a break for an hour, or a few. Our holistic techniques and modalities from around the world can help reduce discomfort from inflammatory symptoms, relax muscle tension, and tap into the limbic system for a break from the stress. Time outs are not just for children.

Wishing you good health!

    Private Yoga Training

Hatha Yoga techniques guide the joining of breath and movement. This becomes a moving meditation that can help practitioners calm the chaos of the mind and find moments of peace. Practitioners can be guided to find more challenging or restful forms that support their unique bodies. Props are available for alignment and comfort. Forms may be held longer than in a flow class, but everyone's yoga is a personalized practice. Make it your own. Shannon offers groups classes at Heartwood Yoga Institute. Private yoga sessions are available for Hatha, Yoga Nidra, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Chair Yoga, Senior Yoga, Intro to techniques and props (Discover Your Yoga), and Yoga Faith and Flow (Christian readings and meditation with movement).

Why should you get regular massages?

Massage offers a range of physical and mental benefits, including but not limited to improved circulation, flexibility, quality of sleep, mood, relaxation, decreased stiffness, inflammation, pain, and stress and anxiety. Massage benefits your immune system by supporting your lymphatic system, and reducing fascial tension can reduce those random aches and pains.

Taking time out of your day to become present in your body can relieve stress and reduce tension.

    Down the Rabbit Hole

Who needs facials and body treatments?

Your skin is a line of defense against infection. Healthy skin is hydrated and intact. Skincare can keep skin safe from free radicals and bacteria. Of course, that’s not the only benefit. Beautiful skin is associated with youth and vitality. Exfoliation of dead dry skin reveals luminous hydrated skin and allows treatment serums to absorb deeper and work more efficiently. And all this therapeutic care stimulates the lymphatic system to enhance the immune system and reduce puffiness.  Maintain the Temple you’ve been blessed with, so you can function better in your life.

    Deep Dive Info

Why would I need a private yoga session?

    • Safety first! Learn posture focus for your body type, using props for stability and to enhance your forms. Get advice from a qualified RYT teacher for every little thing you’ve wondered about.
    • Say Hello to a supportive and customized experience. Do you have mobility limitations? Maybe you can’t put weight on your wrists? An RYT teacher can help you explore movement and forms that YOUR body can do.
    • There are many breathing and meditation exercises that can be used to support you on and off the mat.

      Our history

Our mascot is the Florida Sandhill Crane. This beautiful endangered species is loved for its virtuous habits. Sandhill Cranes partner for life and are never far apart.

Aristotle noted the vigilance of the Sandhill Crane. A Sandhill Crane will stand guard while its family are sleeping or eating, with a pebble in its mouth and one leg elevated, so it will fall down if it sleeps. Just as our mascot stands guard over its family, Sanctuary Holistic Spa offers a safe place for our guests to recover from mental and physical trauma. We put people first.
